Working Session 2014 – Macedonia 2025

On February 27th, Macedonia 2025 held a working session entitled “The prospects of the Macedonian IT Sector“. Over 20 representatives of Macedonian IT companies and related academia attended the session hosted by MK2025 Board Member Chris Pavlovski. Mr. Pavlovski, who is also a member of the Economic Development Committee – is a serial entrepreneur in the IT sector and shared his views on the advantages and challenges of the Macedonian IT sector. He also commented on how Macedonian IT companies can achieve success outside the region by establishing international partnerships.

The representatives of the companies and academia shared their experiences, concerns and eagerness to closely cooperate with MK2025. Mr. Pavlovski provided suggestions on how to improve certain aspects of the work of the domestic IT companies, with a special focus on:

  • Creating global linkages and expanding international sales
  • Leveraging the opportunity of demand in this sector

The key recommendations to come from this initial meeting are the following:

  • Plan regular meeting between IT companies interested in cooperating with MK2025;
  • Create a task force that will work on raising awareness of the challenges that the Macedonian IT sector faces on a daily basis;
  • Develop a strategic plan and propose solutions in overcoming the most common challenges in the Macedonian IT sector;
  • Discuss and analyze the opportunities for Macedonian companies in establishing partnerships with global IT companies.
